Title: check oil level
Post by: tango on 17 June 2011, 16:23:36
hi
keep getting this on this display
although there is enough oil in the car
is it just a case of simply changing the sensor if so where is it located
or could it be somethimg else
ie atf or engine oil not circulating properly

It's an engine oil level sensor in the sump so nothing to worry about if the oil level is correct per the dip stick.

Needs the sump dropped to change the sensor.

Sump removal easy job, and worth doing, It's amazing how much crap you can clean out of there.

If the oil is not near max, you will see this on a cruise. Keep the oil to near max ;)

That started to happen on my old mig when I put an oil additive in thinking it would be a good idea.....
The oil pressure was tested and it was ok, the level was always kept at the correct mark and done while the engine was cold and level. I dropped the oil and filter and used a new filter and VX oil and the problem went! Still cant work that otu!!!!
Might work for you and is worth a try before you drop the sump. If you do you can always re-use the oil and filter again.
Hope that helps
