I have just swapped the channel to have a look, they are driving on a river, why? is it the shortest route or something? :-?

Not exactly sure Daz but it's in Canada, their driving on ice on roads that only exist 2 months a year, the other 10, all water, -40 degrees. On every Wed/Sat for a bit.
My UK class 1 is recognised in most countries but you could'nt pay me enough to do that!!!
Been told there's some good bits on youtube. :y

Not sure I would be wanting to drive on a river that was frozen over even if it is two foot thick :o

Did a demo at work the other day for a customer. We drove a transit van over a piece of glass that was 19mm thick. :o
It didn't break by the way. :y

But if that glass broke, you wouldn't plummet to the bottom of a freezing cold river, then drown ;D

I saw this recently on SKY. If I remember rightly one guy only works these couple of months and earns a good years salary, seem to remember though that they drive just about 24/7.
One benefit, you don’t have to turn it round often, and when you do there’s ‘more than 40 acres’
Can’t remember the little towns name, but I did, and went on to Google Earth to see the area, check it out.

was wanting to see it and missed it >:( >:(

been watching it on Sky in the past, they are nutters, but they earn the wedge for the risk.

Yep it is Yellowknife, watched that last night, pretty cool, work for 2 months and have the rest of the year off, but the bloke they let start off first, lives in yellowknife, has been doing the run for 25 years and has 11 kids :o :o

It's actually an effing great big lake and I believe it's the only route to the diamond mines. When the lake thaws the mines have to be supplied by boat.
