Title: Electric drivers seat
Post by: blackviper90210 on 03 July 2011, 16:34:01
Hi all,

Gave my mig a wash & hoover today. I move the front seats forwards & backwards to clean underneath them and never an issue.
Today, after moving the seat back, the seat won't travel forward enough?

I have set memory settings 1 & 2 for me and SWMBO, but it won't even go forward enough for me on these  :-/

I've looked on the rails and can't see anything blocking it, any ideas please?

TIA  :y

Does the seat move forward/backward at all ?

If it does, can you hear the motor(s) working ?

When the seat stops moving, are the motors still working ?

have another look at the rails. It does sound as though there's something stuck in there, a coin is the usual culprit.

this used to be a £1 coin till my seat ate it.  ;D

Cheers guys,

The motors are all working, the seat just stops moving forward after a point.
Will have another look at the rails in the morning and report back!

Cheers again

Now you know why the seats stop as soon as you release the button, unlike the one-touch on the mirrors.  You'd want it to stop PDQ if you got  some part of your anatomy caught in something that could do that to a coin.   :o

Back on topic, I'd bet the pound coin you are about to find that Andy B is correct  :y

It doesn't only destroy £1 coins ... Seat rails are partial to Euro's as well ..

Took well over an hour to get that littele bugger out .. :(

They drop down the small gap between the seatbelt stalk and the seat and end up "vertical" in the seat rail. Try looking from behind the seat ... rear seat footwell area wth a torch .. you might be able to see it ... but not easily.. :(

Sorry for the delay in getting back - Well I had a bloody good look and couldn't see anything in the rails.

Tried it but it still wouldn't go forward enough  >:(

Went out this morning for another look, bugger me the sodding seat moves backwards & forwards to the full extent??

Not complaining, it works, good enough for me! Thanks for all the pointers OOFer's!  :y
