Title: 2001 lotus omega?

hi, im new to the forum and i just need some general help. a friend of mine is selling his omega and he is giving me the first chance to buy it. it is a 3.2 v6 and is badged as a lotus. the previous owner (who bought it from new) claimed that the car was tuned by lotous in 2001, which makes it a "lotus omega".

i would just like to know some back groud info about the car and weather this car is actaully a lotus.

Hmm. Never heard of a Lotus Tuned V6 Omega.

Only official "Lotus Omega" was a decade earlier, 3.6 litre straight 6 not V6 and 377 BHP. It doesn't sound like one of those. ::)

I think he's pulling your leg, personally, but yes, it would be interesting to see pictures. ;)

Thats now dead a believe...

But to original poster, there was never an official Lotus Tuned Omega  :y

just phoned the lotus head office up and according to their records they did tune a omega 3.2 v6 in 2001. he said that there is only one in production and to verify they want me to email him the chassis number.

In that case, it could be a pretty interesting/ collectable car - if you can get written verification from Lotus. ;)

Could you also request exactly what was done in the tuning phase?  Would be extremely interesting to know!  :y

i do beleave lettuce had one to evalute it for the contstabluaree and also with the view to making a new "LOTUS OMEGA B" best place to find out would be on ABS somebody would know more about it.

still awaiting piccee's or provenance that it is the "1" also if it is might only be lotus engineering meaning suspension work. I.e. Better springs n dampers and geometry. :)

Not really anything to shout about though as 'most' Vauxhalls of the era have 'Lotus tuned suspension'.

Shame none of them handle like a Lotus of the era.  Oh wait.  ;D
