Title: Getting a new key and the one i already have fixed
Post by: Wayne on 11 July 2011, 00:55:56
Guys

i have only one key with my Omega, have replaced the battery with a Duracell one about 3 months ago, even after replacing it, sometimes when i press the key fob, the car wont open, but if i drop the key on the floor from about 2 feet, voila! it works! obviously not doing this key any good, but only way i can unlock the door lol,  is there anyone on here that can fix keys? what do you think is wrong with it? and how do i go about getting a spare key made up?

Thanks very much

Try  Martin Imber - believe he's good with fixing keys. ;)

Its probably the same fault I had and the solution was easy. I bought two new sets of the micro switches off ebay  and fitted them into the remote fobs myself and the problem has not re-occurred. The switches deteriorate over time but they are a doddle to replace cos all you need is a small soldering iron.
Member Martin Imber does them too for a small fee, just post the key fob off to him.  :y
