aaagh!!!

just venting frustration about the 'great' self assessment do it online system.!

I know I shouldn't leave it til last minute
and I knoooooow it's peak hours but.... so do the bloody revenue!

Spent ages yesterday morning trying to submit my tax return on a website that had crashed. customer services said tough. no extension would be given, write one out and hand deliver it to your (8 miles away) local office, between the hours of 3.32 and 3.40pm using the right hand and wearing a rainbow scarf while shouting wibble.... or some other unreasonable terms anyway!

then it was on the news that the whole country was suffering and we'd get today as an extension...

So now I can log in...
and still do ferk all! grr >:( >:( >:(

i've been 'waiting' for 2 hours now!
Thing is, printing off the form and actually writing on it won't help as i get me numbers wrong and the online version corrects your mistakes as you go!

oh! hope nobody else is as disorganised as me :(

moral is... get 07-08 done in May!

still loggin on......ttfn

thanks.. i've got better things to do with my time (ie earning money) and feel frustrated!

christmas day,  :o indeed. but what a genius day, bet the system flew through the numbers!

Just trying to work out what a pen does now and how to find the office. you would've thought the hmrc website would at least opening hours of its offices!

yeah. they extended it to midnight tonight! so the website is now and up and running, but cant cope with demand!

Yesterday morning at 11am they weren't prepared to do extend! just said tough - sort it today or pay £100. I told them to stuff it! better off working for a day and pay their penalty rather than break a contract! hehe. stand and deliver that! 8-)

helpfully the man at the office just told me get it in the post box at the office by midnight and that's ok (office shuts at 5!!  :o) . so no more web waiting!

amazingly i took a copy of last years so i'm remembering how to copy
and amend :)
