Title: Seat bolts - damaged fixings?

I have problems getting one bolt on each of my front seats back in - they are going in so far and then feeling like it is cross threaded which I am sure it is not.

Worringly it seems like what ever the bolt fixes into under the floor has some movement so the bolt has some play back and forth when it is part done up.

Is it possible that I have done some damage that I am going to have problems fixing?

i had the same thing with front seat in my mv6.  I had to re-tap the hole. :-[ :-[  but all is good now. :y

OH - another thing to get the garage to do when it goes in for service / suspension at the end of the month!

Just need to remember to get some new bolts coz i pretty much rounded the torx out of them!  :o

The captive nuts do have a certain amount of movement. :y

so do ya think I may have accidentally x-threadded them making it impossible to get a decent 'do-up' on the bolt?

they have a very tenacious thread-locking compoumd on them

Will need a new bolt to make a second go as the heads are screwed ('scuse the pun!) - will use some less agressive lock compound!

Hopefully the dealer doesnt charge an arm and a leg (anybody got some spare bolts and feeling generous??)

hi i260 are these for leather or cloth seats leather bolts longer  have just changed mine to leather and still have cloth seat bolts so if it is cloth you can certianly have them tony :y

I have put cloth bolts back in on leather seats (MV6 style, not elite if that is different?) - the runners appear to be no different

Not very strong then :D
All seat bolts are the same with the exception of the Elite as these are slightly longer

Well the leather MV6 seats didnt feel any heavier than the cloth ones I took out - they both weighed a ton!

Fundamentally interchangable then!

The Elite would have had more motors for electric everything or were they still relatively poverty spec electric up and down only?

they where elite seats that i fiitted and was warned to use elite bolts as previous reply i sent if you want my cloth bolts send me a pm with your address and i will post them in the morning have all 8 tony2

hi jonathan just seen your pm have put all 8 in a package and will post 1st thing in the morning  there will be no cost just call it a good will gesture  :y update have now posted 1stclass you should recieve them tommorrow hope they help  :y
