A few times today, the car has not started. Leave it for a while and then starts no problem.
There is no noise when I turn the key and engine does not turn over. Battery is good and running is also good. Did it about 6 months ago in the snow and then today after driving through very deep water.
I am suspecting the starter motor or could just be the connections and could be related to water ingress.
Any ideas welcome as I don't want to be left stranded :y

Sounds like the infamous crank sensor to me.

Forget that, it turns over but won't fire if the crank sensor has gone.

Was my 1st thought until I just read the other crank thread.
No turn over, absolutely nothing when key is turned.

Have you checked for fault codes?

Have you checked for fault codes?
No EML light at any point so not bothered with codes.

I am admittedly one of the least experienced mechanics on here but I would suggest you perform a a paperclip test.

Is water ingress possible on the starter motor?
-
Immobiliser fault perhaps? I have no suggestions about how to find out but you would expect some noise if it were starter motor or battery problems.

What dash lights are lit at key position 2 (the one before you start) ?

All the ones that should be and then all the right ones go out after self check, then no lights when engine running.
