depends on what v6 2.5/3.0 or 2.6/3.2 all can have starting problem usually c/shaft sensor and leaking cam covers
-
just generally as im after any v6 that comes up really, it will more than likely be the 2.5 v6. so no major issues or potential headaches?
cam belts
coilpacks
gearboxes
cheers

2.5 can suffer dis pack failure due to water leaking on them due to scuttle joins not sealing cambelt depending on age and maintenance or lack of my 2.5 was good nutil oil cooler gave out but once it was changed ran sweelty again

Generally they are all reliable if they are or were maintained properly. Like any car, if they are poorly maintained they will be unreliable.
I would not change to any other make or type, have ran them for many years without many problems and so will not change.
Cannot say more than that in their favour...... :y
