I believe they are all the same externally (others may know better) but there are quite a few different ratios. Probably worth findng out about the different ratios, so you can locate one which best suits your needs. :y

The prefacelift ratios will be in the Haynes book of 'dangle berries'.If you dont have a haynes book, let me know and I can give you the info from it. ;)

Edit. Smartarse RobG knew better. :D ::) ;D

:y Well, ideally want the same ratio as on my current LSD I suppose, whatever that may be?! Dont fancy locking that one out as its worth half the car  ;D

Right, bumping this back up.

Fitted a 3.0 diff (thanks Serek) but its too long. Longer than the previous one (LSD) so need something shorter (and this week  ::)  :D) Serek has advised that a 2.2 or 2.6 auto one is the shortest?

Albs, may I ask for the ratio info you have please? I cant find my haynes  :y

I have 4.2 diffs available both LSD and "open"

3.0 diff is likely to be a 3.7:1, 2.5 manuals generally have 3.9:1.

If you want something shorter you could go for one from a 2.5 auto, 4.2:1, I think this was also used by the 4 pots.

I cant see why the 4 pots would have have a different drive flange, I thought all versions used the same rear half prop shaft, only the front bit changing between auto / manual

no, the 4-pots have a smaller pcd on the donut bolts.

I'll measure one tomorrow ( I'm having a diff sort-out day ! ), it may be that the 4-pot is actually a smaller crownwheel (as per Omega A 4-pots)
