Title: V6 cambelt service interval?
Post by: i260 on 01 August 2011, 15:05:45
Hi,

I am looking at a low mileage 2.6 V6 and would like to know what the time-related service interval for the cam belt is as I have only had experience of changing them on 40k after doing 10-15k a year.

Many thanks

40K or 4 years, whichever comes sooner. :y

VX did try to extend it to 8 years / 80K, and some (superceded) documentation may state that interval. Some misguided members of the motor trade (including main dealers) will also state  8 Years / 80K.

The belt kits don't last long enough for 4 years/40k to be exceeded, however, as VX conceded when they got a load of warranty claims.
