Title: Passenger Window Intermittently Not Working
Post by: richardirv on 01 August 2011, 08:36:07
Hey, had this problem a while now, noticed it last time I went camping and it was scorchio! Not that I think the heat is a factor in this.

Basically the passenger window wouldn't work, you could hear the little sound it makes when the window is up and you press the up button but that's it no movement at all.

The next day I tried it and it was fine, Strange I thought and then forgot about it as its not that ofter the window is used, until the other day and it had stopped working again. Still not working now!

Anyone got any idea's?  :y

When it did work what side switches were you using, driver/passenger?

Before taking the door cover off, it's worth checking where the wiring jumps from the door frame to the door. The loom plugs into the door. I had intermittent speaker and window operation on my drivers door the plug wasn't in properly and had corroded. A clean up  and a smear of Contralube grease on the pins and socket. All lovely, no money spent NICE! Oh and you might want to unhook the door strap it doesn't give you much more opening on the door but it all helps

None of the switches work but you can hear a small clicking type sound. The same sound you get when your window is up and you press the window up button. If its quiet you can hear a little sound.

I will have a look but there must be a connection there for it to make the sound when you press the buttons.  ;)
