Hi all,
After I got the car the aircon wasn't working. I suspected it was due to lack of gas as it had been standing for 6 months. Compressor was not engaging.
Got kwik-rip to regas and the compressor was working again, can hear it click on and off again when I press the auto and eco buttons.
However, after a few days, it doesn't blow cold anymore, compressor still kicks in though.
Are there any checks I can do before I get ruined at the Vauxhall dealership?
Many thanks.

Sounds like a lack of gas again, ie Kwik fit have filled a system that had a leak. Rather than go to Vauxhal find a local reputable air/con specialist. :y

I'd moan to Kwik Fit(up) for a start. As said, they have filled a system without checking for leaks, which is illegal. I think they also have a money back guarantee so well worth kicking up a stink there.
.. Then go to someone who can diagnose it properly. :y
EDIT: And by the above I mean an air conditioning specialist not a main dealer. ;)

In Surrey (Guildford), any recommendations?

These people are recommended by people on the site. I know they have franchises about but don't know if they have one near you.......

Can't personally recommend anyone in this area, I'm afraid.
Have a chat to a few places and see what feeling you come away with. They should suggest charging the system with a dye and then searching for the leak using a UV light before vacuuming out the system, refilling and checking performance.
