The obvious question is why  :-/

In the dry, a 2.0l auto would need shite tyres and some provocation to get it going, and I doubt it has the power to keep it going.

But I can't think of a possible reason why you would want to.

I did manage a tiny bit of wheel spin pulling onto the the main road from Dale Bottom Farm, I think that may have been more to do with the loose surface than the power of my 2.2 though........... :D :D :D

As above... I think a 4 pot will struggle to brake traction in the dry unless the tyres are pants. A V6 however :-X :-X ::) ::)

But why would you want to, unless it's just to give the tyres a send off :-? :-?

You could always try fitting some Linglongdingalong laminated Chinese import tyres, that should do it :y

As above why? If thats what you want to do you have the wrong combo of engine and box

a 3.0 manual however.  ::)

my rear tyres were £220 a pop  :( Sometimes the temptation kicks in and oh she goes.

However if I wanted to be a herbert all night on McDonalds car park I have 2 spare wheels at home with bald tyres lol

if you can get some where with loose gravel you will be able to do donuts no problem. with it being auto i think it will be hard o get it going in wet but might.

ive a 3L manual and dry tarmac good or bad tyres and its plenty fun. id recommend one if your looking to play about in the car. i regularly take mine to diffing events and best car ive had for it better than the bmws ive had  ;D

Second question is: how did a 2.0 come to have a limited slip diff fitted?  :-/

Can vouch for that one. Buy wheels. 2 with Linglongs, fit sc3's on the front. Bit of wet road, even a 1litre could get the back out. Most amusing, until the Mrs drives it and i have to correct the slide from the passenger seat. ;D

I know its a different engine but my 2.5TD auto can be persuaded to spin round but its much easier when the tarmac is damp or wet. I think it has the same bhp as the 2.0 but more torque

I suppose I should have been more specific im a dab hand with a stick welder and if you guys said the car had enough power to do donuts with the auto box i was going to weld the diff ;)

if the diffs welded should make things easier but again wet ground will be alot easier on the car.
worth a try and find out. videos of results would be nice  ;)

If the Car was explod could / may have come with LSD, it wasn't just 3.0 /3.2 some Forces requested LSD for, depends on the Force.

Even a 3.0 V6 wont 'spin up' in dry conditions with decent boots as standard..... no chance with a LSD or welded Diff. (edited to add AUTO.... even the youngest chav in a manual 106 or saxo can create smoke).

Try Krispy Kreme, or whatever they are called.

Easy with wrong wheel drive, I had a hot hatch which struggled to wheel spin but that was RWD and was quicker than the FWD hatches of the time

my quick rwd hatch also had plenty of grip in the dry, but would swap ends very quickly indeed on even a slightly damp road.
May have been due to 70,s tyre technology though. :-/

One of my old Elite autos would quite happily play sideways if given the right encouragement (and a nice empty private carpark where i used to work lol) The car was being broke for spares many moons ago and i wanted to see if it was any good at sideways. TC off, sport mode on and do everything with kickdown. Takes a bit of getting used to and yes, manual is a lot easier but auto does have benefits ;)

They are quite literally just around the corner from me (a drive thru doughnut shop, whatever next??) and i have often come home late at night to see the aftermarket HID glare from that general direction as the little boys play the bouncing limiter game :)

i beg to differ. my manual needs little encouragement to go sideways in dry.

.. but it probably needs some provocation. ;)

In an auto, it's practically impossible not to apply the power smoothly, so provocation is less easy. ;)

Hence why my edit says AUTO.  Perhaps you should read before you reply.  :y

Still, your Manual is slower 10-60 or 10-100 than an Auto FACT.

0-60 or 0-100, you have the edge.

Just sayin.
