Tried bleeding my clutch as i was having trouble changing from 1st to 2nd no joy, Had one person topping up reservoir one at pedal and one at bleed valve. There is no air in system put 1 litre through with no air bubbles, But when i drive the car the pedal will drop to the floor and i have to lift it with my foot. I also feel the pressure in the pedal varies when i accelerate it increases pressure, take my foot off the throttle and the pedal pressure drops away. Any help would be gratefully accepted :-/ :-/

Best method is to reverse bleed it i.e. use an easibleed to force fluid into the bleed nipple.

I guess you're not getting fluid falling out from the bottom of the bell housing???
And gears 3-5 are ok???

No fluid leaking might try changing master cylinder first, then slave if that doesnt work

If there is no fluid loss and if the clutch disengages but then bites while you have your foot on the floor then it has to be the seals in the master cylinder.
Be grateful that it isn't the slave, the gearbox has to come out to replace it.

Well guys bit the bullet and took out g/box, only to find the slave cylinder loose. One bolt snapped one hanging out and the other finger tight. Slave is ok but have a small leak from the pipes feeding it probably due to the movement of the cylinder being loose. Getting new pipes made up in the morning then get the old girl back together hopefully all will be ok ::) ::)
