Having cambelt, water pump, and fresh anti-freeze sorted at my local VX dealer this Friday. After negotiation we agreed on £330. ( Down from £450) Only genuine VX parts will be used and I'll get a stamp in my service book which may be worth a few quid should I need to sell at a later date. A good price I think.. :y
I wanted top spanner man Elite Pete to do the job, but because of the distance involved, and with the cost of petrol so high, it worked out uneconomical. :'(
Oh Yes .....I nearly forgot . They will let me have a courtesy car while the work is being done. I've asked for a Monaro or VXR8..... ::) ::) ::) ::) :D ;)

Yes. All genuine VX parts too. It seems that some main dealers are willing to haggle over price at the moment. A sign of hard times.

Make sure Vaux are doing the tensioners too opti and not just the belt :y
If I had a locking kit then I could do the job...but I dont so I cant lol Misfires etc I'm happy to sort, pretty much any job on a v6...but cambelt is the one I cant do at the moment and dont have the funds to get a locking kit...or enough experience doing it to feel confident to change other people's cambelt...engine change...no problem lol

I'm told it comes as a kit from Vauxhall. I'll be asking them to give me the old belt.....tensioners and water pump, so I'll soon know if something is missing.... :y

The guys on here, but I have only personally used Daz are highly recommended and well worth the journey. They do a first rate job at a reasonable price, and I have yet to read a bad word about them.
Do what's right see the light (sabre) :y :y ;D
