Title: Starting Problems
Post by: Ratty on 17 August 2011, 12:02:42
Hi,

for a couple of months now I've had an intermittent problem that the car wouldn't start, but flooring the throttle pedal and turning the key would get it going after a lil while, (possible fuel pressure regulator?) this usually happens after running the car for a while then stopping for a short time and then trying to get it going again (if that makes sense)

But this morning it wouldn't start even from cold (flattened the battery trying).

The crankshaft sensor was changed (genuine VX part) about a year ago by Lee (Welung666) is it possible that that could have gone again?

Anybody in Coventry that could help or have a look for me?

cheers

Slight update: Just tried again after having the battery on charge for a couple of hours and this time it did start with the pedal floored though, the engine turned over for a few seconds then with a sort of bang/clunking sound it started (I know, I know  ::) )
