Someone close has a Sport for sale, & before I bug him for spec, can anyone tell me what to expect as far as gadgets & engine? is a '52 iirc
I currently have Elite 3.0, and rather like the ride and bits on it, but the sport looks in VGC, and is proper black rather than my dark greyish

Certainly not as many toys as your Elite. Have a butcher's at the General Guide To Facelift Omegas (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1266867411) in the Omega Common Issues and FAQ section.

MV6 seats, silver interior trim, suspension & wheels, standard non-Bose ICE, headlight washers but non-Hid`s, prodrive bootlip & front bumper. No Elite bits

Thanks both
2.2 just isn't enough, and that's before I start on toys as I spend far too much time in it to go that low on spec.
Shame as it really looks the part :(
Useful guide tho, didn't even know that one was there!

Lots of handy guides and info in there. Always worth a look before posing a question. ;) :y

Are the Elite toys really that important?
Do you drive around playing with the electric seats/memory?
The auto dipping mirror is nice to have, but hardly essential. Much like the auto levelling headlamps. I bought an Elite because I wanted a 3.0l and preferably leather, and found a decent one locally; otherwise I'd have been perfectly happy with a lower spec.

Yes ;D
Which is why I've retro fitted everything, except the memory seats, in my beloved prefacelift MV6 ;D
With TBE, I'm now doing it properly - starting with an 03 Elite, and trying to make it handle like an MV6 ;D

I've gone 6 years without the toys, the one I would really like is Bose. But as Dave DND points out, I could obtain better sound with new speakers. I just can't be bothered to fit them.
I don't need memory seats, I'm the only who drives mine. I don't need auto dipping mirror. I'm not old with failing eyes who don't like glare. Don't need HID's can see fine without.
What else do you get in an Elite!? Sunroof? Useless things. (never use one in the Elite Estate)
GPS? Factory fit ones take far to long to program a destination.... use tomtom for the once a year I actually need to use sat nav.

If you are going to have an Omega you mite as well have an elite as they are as cheeeeep as chips at the moment even for a good one and they will not be around much longer as members like me keep buying them and selling all the bits ;D ;D ;D ;D a lot of CDX's around at the moment they will be the next spec to go to the omega yard in the sky. :y

I'm certainly leaning towards that route now as well... Starting to get frustrated that I'm almost at the limits of handling for mine :-X :-X

Also a big yes
Electric mirrors/seats- 'er indoors drives it a lot
Auto-dip mirror because I'm in essex where all the chavs drive with full beam & fogs
Headlamps- i don't notice them work, so they must be ok
Leather- as it's a work car I get in it rather dirty a lot, it's easier to clean than cloth
I like the sound of the bose, not one for retro fit ICE
And agreed, the GPS is so laborious to program, not used it since first try, tomtom for me

To be truthful, so have I... But I tend to behave a bit more at the moment ::) still need new rear tyres soon though :-X Which isn't good considering they have lasted less than 10k and they're supposed to be "high end budget" from what I can find :-X ::)
