The oil light on my '02 Omega 2.2 DTi has just started coming on when the engine is at normal running temp and only below 1200 rpm. It goes out above these revs. The oil is clean and to level. Has covered 89k trouble free miles. No rattles and runs as it has always has. Any ideas? Oil pressure switch maybe? :-/

try the sensor on drivers side bottom of the engine, check the plug to the sensor. can get full of water and road muck, did it a lot on mine so change'd the seal on the plug and it stopped.

Yep, that would be my main concern, followed by a clogged pickup strainer.
It might well be an issue with the switch, but the consequences of driving it with low oil pressure (wrecking the whole engine) would prompt me to check out the important bits first.
I would say get an oil pressure test gauge and connect it up to see how much oil pressure you've really got.

I certainly wouldn't be pissing around with sensors anyway, there is something far more serious going on.
