year 2000 2.5 auto saloon. Anyone know what the ratio will be. I think its 4.22/1 but want to check.

I remember its mostly 3.9.. 4.22 must be LSD and rare I think..

Jack up rear of car, Disconnect propshaft, rotate Diff input shaft x turns, count rotation of rear wheels y .... calculate ratio x : y

If similar to the face lifts, an auto would be 4.2. Maybe uncle Jimbob could confirm. :y

I believe the car Albs is referring to is a facelift. :y

Sorry, specifically the 2.6 auto. The drive by wires are listed in FAQ for the correct gearing. I would think the 2.5 would be the same. But that's an assumption.

There's a plate on the diff with different markings/digits on it and somewhere on this forum there's a table telling which code is which ratio...
