Can anyone tell me what the most recent issue is of the mapping database?
I've decided it's time to teach her about the M6 toll road ...... and mine is 2003..... but I don;t want to order the wrong one! you know what these VX stealers and co are like... any chance to get rid of old stock on unsuspecting punters is taken like a shot !

I've just got the 2008 disc for my carin system :y

Look at your disc to see if Teleatlas or Navteq, then contact them for compatibility.
No discussion of sharing/obtaining illegally please.

Fleabay has it out of the vaterland for 30 quid plus shipping last I looked. New in wrapper.
If you find out for sure what the versions are I'd be interested to know. Mine is still '99 :-[ :'(

Such was not my intent......
I'm just trying to double check the issue "version" , as the manual keeps banging on about only vauxhall specific disks being valid.... and the website isn't entirely clear as to whether it's a generic or specific disk I get for my £76 quid....
I'd get a bit miffed if they stuff it up and then refuse refund because the software has been opened..... (as is common practice)
if you see what I mean...

I know what you were getting at, it was a reminder to others about all piping up saying I'll knock you off a copy
-
fair enuff Jaime...
I'll clarify...
Would anyone with the latest version that works in the Carin system as fitted to mini-facelift Elites(10/99) , please let me know the release date and version number you got.... so I can request the same damn thing.... I've been bitten by the vagaries of such things before...
Being slightly weird and eccentric, I'd rather pay £76 than have a knocked off copy... something to do with believing in IP rights, because I work in the Music and audio software industry.... and IP rights pay my wages...
while I appreciate that our strong forum community feeling might drive one to offer a copy, I'd personally be happier if you didn't , not even by PM or in code, for the sake of the forum admin's headaches, as well as my conscience.
Ta muchly .
Max

Those don't work IME. He'd get massive stick from me if that were the case. I'm not keen to spend 76 plus VAT, so I guess I'll just be following the UK signage that is carefully designed to make us pay more fuel taxes. ::) >:(

This is the one I've got, sorry the picture is upside down

I think Carin uses Teleatlas, but could be wrong.
-
my existing disk, is 2003 Navtech.
and i THINK this page has what I'm supposed to be getting....
http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/Navteq-NavteqEurope-Site/en_GB/-/GBP/ViewStandardCatalog-Browse;pgid=31dce3Wq3QdSR0MxOotKzICB0000KVlTMyxY?CatalogCategoryID=JEgKCggRfO4AAAEOCM9tNDzd&ShowAllProducts=YES&ShowAllCategories=YES
anyone got an opinion?
i'm bothered because late 99/early 00 is changeover period from mini facelift to early facelift.... with, as i understand it, different Sat nav systems..... thus the worry that I'll end up with the wrong one....
-
TheBoy .. I wrote to NavTeq as the existing one is one of theirs .... :)

I think Carin uses Teleatlas, but could be wrong.
Correct, teleatlas for pre-facelift carin systems and navteq is for facelift sat-nav systems

carin is a different system.

Entwood has a facelift so was looking for NavTeq, hence the confusion in the thread :y
-
I'm not confused ... :)
I posted my e-mail so MaxV6 could send the same info to Navteq for confirmation ......
then
MaxV6 (OP) said ...
my existing disk, is 2003 Navtech.
:)
-
Now I'm confused......
My existing Disk, dates from 2003, and has Navtech printed on it.,.. (along with a load of other stuff, including I think something about Siemens? , I'd have to go get it out of the car and it's cold windy and raining here... so I can't be arsed till later.... ;) )
IS that the same thing as Navteq??
and yes it's a CD drive equipped Carin system, in a late (V-reg) mini-facelift elite estate... rear luggage area roof mounted drive....
(the same edition disk also worked in my earlier (S-reg) Elite estate Carin system, which other than being located on the transmission tunnel, seemed the same... )

When I bought my Omega second hand the car dealer ordered the satnav CD as it didn't have one. I still have the box for it but I'm pretty sure it says Navtech on it, rather than Navteq. I would have to check to be sure.
This is for a prefacelift Omega registered April 99 and it has the Philips boot mounted unit that says Carin on it. Again would need to stick my head in the boot to confirm.
I'm still running the same CD as I don't use the satnav often. Much more fun to argue the best route when SWMBO is in the passenger seat!
