hi all, i am new to this forum as i only picked my omega up yesterday and i have three issues that i was wondering if anyone could shed any light on?
the car is a 2000 (W) saloon cdx spec 2.5 V6
1. the front o/s wheel point in towards the car at the top of the car quite severly, much, much more than the n/s front- is this just a camber/tracking/allignment issue?
2. even if both sides of the climate control are set to HI i can only get heat from the n/s vents on the car- that being the left hand demister vent, left hand window vent and left hand passenger vent- all the corresponding vents on the drivers side only blow cold air. surely this can not be a heater matrix/heater blower problem as i can get heat from the pasenger side of the car? unless the omega uses two matrix/blowers and has a differnt one each side(i dont know anything bowt omegas- thats why ive joined)
3. the brakes are pullling to the right but am i correct in saying this could be because of the horrendous camber on the o/s front wheel?
thanks for your advice in advance people- one note, due to the age of the car it dosent come with a warranty so i cant take it back to the dealer.

Hi, Welcome to OOF :)
1. Omega is very sensitive to steering geometry. A simple "alignement" done by the local "expert" is pointless. The car needs to have a FULL geometry check. Most of us use Wheels In Motion, Chesham, but if that is too far for you to travel they do have franchises around, but you won't get the OOF discount from the franchises, only from Chesham. Camber out will wreck front tyres in a few hundred miles.

First check is to make sure all components: wishbones, droplinks, trackrods, springs, shock absorbers etc are in good condition and undamaged, then a full geometry check.
2. Not unknown for the levers that control the flaps that control the air distibution to pop off. Some help might be here ....

3. Brake pull COULD be due to alignement problems/damage but also just a stuck caliper on the other side. Best bet would be to strip the pads out, clean the calipers up, check the piston moves freely, reassemble and see if things are better - personally I'd do both sides and probably put new pads in whilst there :)
If you stick your location in your profile there might be "someone who knows" living nearby who can help :)

Edited for smelling pistakes .. :)

As you bought the car from a trader you do have some cover regarding the sale of goods act no matter how old the car is I would take it up with the dealer you bought it off and if you have no joy let him know you will be inclined to have a chat with trading standards

ive had a good look at the link and im wondering wether anyone knows if its the same procedure for sorting out the heating on the drivers side? i.e the same dismantling procedure but done on the drivers side of the car? i presume that if the passenger side motor controlling the flaps is the passenger side footwell then the drivers side motor controlling the flaps would be in the drivers side footwell?
