Title: Gearbox Woes
Post by: valliant72 on 14 September 2011, 21:12:12
My gearbox is jerky between gears, but on occasion is so smooth u dont know its changed. This all started through changing a lambda sensor cause i got the EML  show an error. Ever since changing the revs wouldnt calm down but now have but the gearbox is now jerky most of the time. The only thing that slightly improved it was a change of the Vehicle Speed Sensor. Sent the ECU to The Boy who updated the Firmware. The selector switch does flash other positions but not bad just now and then. The Gearbox  oil and filter were changed by vauxhall. The car has only done 69000 miles and had a fsh. "My Naff Code Reader" shows no errors on Engine or Gearbox.  Just not got a clue what could be causing it.

I`d suggest a clean & reset of the switch

i went to check the fluid level but vauxhall done the bloody plug up so tight it rounded the nut off. Was thinking of getting a nut remover to grip it to undo. Ive also got a spare selector switch i cleaned and regreased, so may give that a try.
