Title: 3.2 elite auto false neutral
Post by: PAULCBX666666 on 13 September 2011, 20:08:12
Hi, have a 3.2 Elite that will occasionally at slow speed pullaways find a false neutral and lose drive, have found I can pop it into 3rd gear and accelerate normally then pop it back into drive and all back to normal!! any ideas on what this could be? Not a high milegae car or anything (only 87k or thereabouts)
Thanks Paul

okay sounds like a good place to start, doesn't miss a beat at higher speeds or under heavy load which is where I thought low levels would affect it more?

this kind of problem has been frequently posted up. I would go for crank sensor and change of ATF.

I  had exact same problem 2 years ago. Trouble is it could be other things such as solenoids in gearbox.
