Title: Facelift door card
Post by: Lesopc on 22 September 2011, 11:09:34
I just read the post on facelift door card removal which was very helpful. I am however wondering, is it possible to remove the door bin and arm rest parts from the rest. I am looking to tidy both of them up with adhesion promoter and gloss black paint unless i can find any in MV6 Silver (not sure if these are in exsistence)??????
Any advice might help. Thanks.

Yes, these bits are held on with plastic rivets. You either use self tappers to replace, or blobs of molten plastic, I used Rover self tappers with a nice big integral washer.

Pic of the type of screw needed to re-fit parts to doorcard, 6mm refers to the overall length

I have only just discovered that the higher spec miggie's had door bins on the rear doors too. Another upgrade for the future. :y

Yep, everything is fixed to the doorcard with plastic rivets.  If you are taking the doorcard off, it's a good chance to lubricate all moving parts.  :y
