Title: Orange Car & Spanner Light.
Post by: P6UL K on 20 September 2011, 04:52:10
Morning!

Yesterday afternoon when starting the car she started really rough and lumpy but settled after a few seconds but the service (is that what it is?) has light came on.   :-/

Hasn't affected performance or anything, just wondered if the lumpy idle on starting has bought the light on for some reason?  Is it going to be a Tech2 job to find out why its come on?

Cheers  :y

Spanner light is the engine managment light. Engine-shaped is for emissions control faults.

Read the codes, pedal trick is explained in maintenance guides, as well as are all the fault codes. I suspect you have 0300 and some other 030-codes for misfire due lumpy start. Maybe also 0335 for crank sensor, which might be the origin of poor starting.

Ok, just been out and done the pedal trick and here's the results...

1 Very brief flash just as all the other lights go out then...

5-2-3

Then nothing, no more flashing - stays off.

Any ideas?

*Edit*

Could this be it?

Assuming no symptoms, clear it out, see what comes back...
