Title: radio reception/heated rear window

Hi,

First time I noticed this as I bought the car in March & have never had to use the heated rear windscreen until today!

Question. Is it normal for the radio reception to go to cr*p when you turn on the heated rear windscreen?? I know it uses it as an aeriel but would have thought this wouldn't be the norm??

This is actually a common problem.

Check and remake all the aerial connections from the headunit plug, any connectors along the way including the amplifier to the heated window.

Mine used to do that, now it doesn't & I didn't touch anything! :-?

Can check the head unit connections no problem - where is the signal amplifier? Got to fix this as my journey to work is normally ten minutes & in winter the heated screen will be on the whole way!
