Title: CDR 2005 on/off
Post by: Chopsdad on 06 January 2007, 23:06:28
The manual ability to switch on/off has stopped working.

Not a huge issue as it works fine via the ignition on/off but Idon't like to leave the keys in just to leave the radio on for the kids when I nip in the chippy.

Any thoughts?

It's a setting.  It's mentioned in the manual but I dont have mine to hand to check...

I've just looked in the manual - the link to the ignition can be enabled/disabled but the on/off button should always work.

Mine did the same.....you couldnt turn it on without the keys in the ignition unless you thumped the volume button.....vx dealer changed mine under netq warrenty.....but its now a diff colour grey  >:(

Think its a fairly common prob...... :-/

Mine became very sticky as well, and required a very hard push to turn on / off.

Not in warranty and upgraded anyway to a nice Alpine unit  :)
