Title: Phone kit install
Post by: jconn on 31 January 2007, 18:15:16
I'm about to install an Autoleads interface lead (06-102B) into my 98 Omega Elite to connect the Nokia bluetooth kit. Will I need to fit the audio relay (06-100) and what does it do? Any hints and tips would bewelcome.

Cheers, Jeff.

I didn't think the autoleads stuff worked on Bose?  I may be wrong though.

Is you care prewired for phone, that may be a better autolead?

My (non Bose) MV6 just had the simple lead from nokia kit to 16pin prewire interface above glovebox if that helps...

Yes. This is the lead that connects to the pre-wired behind the glovebox. Then there is power and speaker connections to go to the Nokia box. But the instructions make some mention of an audio relay that may or may not be needed (the criteria are vauge). Just wondering what it does and whether this weekend when I plug it in it ain't gonna work >:(.

Cheers, Jeff.

Done! Sorted! ;D Plug and play. 2nd hardest job finding the connector. Hardest job finding space for Nokia box behind glovebox. Pretty full behind there :o. Good to see the Haynes Book of Ltes is on form. "Remove the four screws and take out the glovebox." Oh yea! What about the fith one Mr Haynes? The one that requires the removal of the passenger vent? Good grief! Ah well at least  I know whats in there! :y

Mmmmm I was caught out by that too. Apparently earlier cars have 4 screws and the later pre facelift cars have 5 like the face lift cars. I sent Mr Haynes a picture of the 5th screw & they weren't aware of it's existance! :o

I have had both Nokia CARK91 and CARK7W in mine, using an autolead connected to the plug behind the glovebox (prewired cars only).

A very good point, I suppose that I should check if it is pre wired first !

Thanks

If anyone wants a 06-102B with the relay, I bought one for my car then didn't need it.

Yours for £10 posted, PM me.
