Title: anyone repair car radios ?
Post by: tyreburner on 10 January 2007, 18:20:38
hi i bought a jvc kd-lh811 off flea bay and its mint ....oh yeah apart from the fact it keeps trying to play cd's that arent there and just keeps ejecting them once you force one in, ebay member has a 7 day return policy but wont accept it as says it works? i paid with paypal but i have to wait 10 days and as i travel 30 mile each way to work i want music!!!!!
i will be persuing him but if anyone does cheap repairs i would just pay em as this appears a dogs boll*x unit and was cheap... now i know why... wouldnt care he had 1388 feedback aswell
Why are the ebayers that sell shit always the other end of the country!!! >:(

Nice piece of kit those. Usually around £200 new.

I would recommend dropping Marks DTM a pm as he does know someone who does that sort of thing.
I would also speak to your local ICE shops, they can probably recommend a specialist.

www.fixmyradio.co.uk are trusted commercial repairers, but will charge a fixed rate, whatever the fault.  (£75).

Good luck!

i fix car radios ,sounds like you got a faulty cd mechanism ,could be out of timing, worst case scenario something snapped inside.

Agreed with dragon33 as i dabble a bit in that kind of repairs. By taking the metal top/bottom off the unit you might be able to see if it is something obvious. i've had all sorts of things found inside head units.

A junior could have even put a coin into 'the money box' slot. It does happen ;)

I tried these with a Sony MiniDisc I had and after 3 attempts at trying to fix it I gave up :(
