Title: Auto box ecu
Post by: BILL0BLU on 17 April 2007, 14:48:58
Hi all, I've read some where in the forum reference to the auto box ecu being flashable.
I wonder if some one can cast more light on this subject and also the advantages.

Thanks   Bill :y

Several on here have had it done & most say the improvement is well worth it.
Something I plan getting done very soon.
TheBoy on here does this with his Tech2, I'm sure he'll be along soon with an explanation....

Only possible on 98 onwards ECUs, so out of luck on your 95 model :(

Just for interest, what improvements does it make?

Much MUCH smoother changing through the gears, both up and down - lots more 'go' in the lower revs... thats what I got - but only after also changing the autobox fluid and flushing the filter through with lots of parafin (was cheaper than paying £60  :o for a new filter..)

Just had my auto box software updated by the local dealer. Took it in for MOT at same time (car not autobox).

Box now changes to top gear at around 45 mph instead of 52 ish. Other changes slightly earlier than before. Car has a lot more get up and go and is very smooth on gear changes.

Already seeing a better miles per gallon running around town. Still to early to say but will report back after a long trip South of the border next week.

 8-)
