number 1 is that i have a lead from the radio coming into the glove box witha phono lead on the end ?? i think its for aux input but cannot get it to function . any ideas ??
number 2 is maybe related. in the passenger footwell sort of hanging down but tucked away is a crome 2 position switch which seems to have something to do with radio reception ??? any clues

Neither std fit, so no idea... ...what radio is it?

No idea, never seen such things on a standard car....

Sounds like someone's been hacking ::).
If you find out where the wires go to it might give some clues. My guess is that someone's tried to botch an Ipod connection into the mobile phone pre-wiring.
