Post by: Baron Von Spongebob on 07 July 2007, 12:05:23
If i press the 2 buttons to clear all information and keep holding them long enough i get the following..

007                             3

                              24555

Does this mean im James Bond the 3rd and im aged 24555.. ;D ;D ;D

Means you drive a manual 2.5 (or at least your MID thinks it is)

I have the same mid codes, but car is 3.0 - does that mean I need to have the mid software updated? also, would it be giving wrong readings if it thinks the engine is 2.5 but is actually 3.0?

Yup and yup.

Cheers TB - could possibly work out cheaper for me just to change the mid display, i presume the software is stored in the actual display unit?

Just picked one out of a dash down the scrapper, whole dash cost a tenner, the MID codes are 046    3    27555 am I any closer to a 3.0 version, I think the Omega was a 3.0 that it was taken from, tho the engine is gone so couldnt tell for sure, but still not bad even if the MID is wrong cos I wanna try swapping the fuel guage round too, tricky and delicate i've heard but possible.
If the MID is still no good, anyone willing to accept it via post for re-programming and how much?
  Cheers John

046 - 3.0l Manual, smaller tyres, HIDs.  So looking good for your ex-plod!

Yeahhhh, hit the jackpot then, i've only got the 16" irmscher softline alloys, but quite happy, I prefer em to the 17" original mv6 wheels  :y
Cheers TB, if anything goes wrong with the MID in future i'll keep you in mind, very reasonable rates you have there  ;)
