Title: Alpine CDM-9803rm
Post by: VX1 on 29 July 2007, 00:09:53
I am putting this head unit in my 95 Omega, the thing is how can you connect it up to come on with the ignition and keep the station's that you program in? It tends to be a bit annoying every time I turn it on I have to reprogram the station time after time its just stupid. Anyone help?

You need to swap the permanent and switched live connections on the ISO connector at the back. If you're using an adaptor cable this is usually the red and yellow wires. Many have bullet connectors so you can swap them. Failing that you can sometimes tease the pins out of the ISO connector using a very small flat bladed screwdriver to push the little latches in, and just swap the two pins over on one of the connectors.

So let me get this right, if I swap the red and yellow wires around on the ISO connector (on the radio) this should keep the memory for the programed stations AND turn on when I turn the ignition on?

Yep. Vauxhall's wiring differs from the standard so you need to swap these two over.

Just in case, to double check - ISO connector pinout here: http://www.bluespot.co.uk/stock/iso.asp

You need to swap the +12v battery and +12v ignition pins over.
