Title: Dashboard Illumination problem
Post by: DJ Pete on 13 October 2007, 18:48:49
Hello all,

Strange one this, changed my headlamp switch today, as the old one had a cracked pcb and wouldn't adjust the headlamp height.

After putting the new one in (second hand), everything seems to work fine apart from when I turn the lights on, the MID goes blank, and the dash illumination fails to work, I tried wriggling the brightness control, but still nothing.

So, could be a faulty new switch, I put the old one back in, and the same is happening.

Is there a fuse for the dash illumination hidden somewhere? I've checked all the fuses in the fuse box and all are ok.

A wiring diagram might help, does one exist?

Thanks in advance,

Pete.

i had the same thing in a senator, on that it was caused by 2 thin metal prongs each side of the illumination adjustment wheel that were'nt quite making contact, not sure if omega's are the same but worth a look!

Sorted.

I took the switch apart, cleaned everything up and made sure it was seated correctly, and now it works perfectly.

Thanks!!
