Can be down to the bulbs still, if they have burned black on the glass it's worth replacing them and make sure that they are both identical makes (replace both together).

Well someone on here had similar problems and it only went away when they used bulbs from VX, why a simple light bulb should cause problems i'll never know!

There is a slight concern that if the bulbs keep failing then the alternator may need attention.

well the bulbs are working but i will check to see if they are black or different brands. (collecting the car monday)

cheers again for the fast reply, i got a warning to check the washer fluid level and petrol as well, they should be straight forward hopefully :) haha.

my next worry is the rear blind not moving, i hear a click everytime i press the button but nothing, the seller swears that now and again it did stop working but it should be ok.
I will check the connections when I get around to looking and give it a few wiggles as well.

Blind notorious for getting stuck!

Petrol warning if less than 30 Miles range (Based on current consumption)

Washer bottle at front of car between bumper and radiator!

What trim level is this car? I'm guessing it's an Elite if it has a rear blind!

Um, if its "brake light check" when you turn the ignition on, it performs a self-check when you touch the pedal. HTH :y

Must have pressed the pedal for the brake lights to come on to know they were all working!  :y

Ah, but is the phrase the same? I know when I got mine, it came up "brake light check" and I thought it was saying the bulbs were on the way out... only when I read the manual with a cuppa in a services on the way home did I realise... :)

Oh i see, it could be ok then, when you read the sentence differently, i have got a manual with it, getting it at 5 today will look,

Just the way it is worded ATTENTION BRAKE LIGHT CHECK.

As opposed to CHECK BRAKE LIGHT.

hmm.

I got a v6 24v 3.0 elite (not sure if its injection in the title or not)

If it goes off when you press the brake pedal, it's the normal pre flight check of the bulbs.

Remove it all from the rear shelf and try moving the motor a little - the motor shaft protrudes out the back of the motor casing enough to get a proper hold of it.

ok thanks i will do some google searches when I get the time, probably attempt more of the blind on the weekend.

Another quick (hopefully) question is when I open the door with key (ie not the remote button) the alarm goes off, is there a way to stop the alarm going off or is it meant to do that?

Yes and turn it. Pressing the 'unlock' button on your fob will prevent you having the problem in the first place though!  :y  :y

oh yes i know about the button (obviously hehe) its just that we got two keys and on one the button doesnt work, so i swapped over the batteries and still only one worked so i know its the fob not the batteries.

Just put on the DIY parking sensors and gave it a vaccum and a dashboard polish, looking better now.

Nothing worse than a fob that doesn't work. If it's a broken connection, try my cure in a recent post under 'General Help'.
On reflection, a lump of blue tack between the case and the back of the battery might be even better.

yeah that might work as one of the battery connections has come loose away from the circuit board.

YES IT DOES, the 2nd fob is now working, cheers.
