Title: CDR 2005 VDO Replacement
Post by: docksboy on 15 November 2007, 23:55:22
Hi Guys, I'm looking to replace the CDR 2005 VDO unti in my 52 2.6 v6 as the rotary volume dial is screwed.  I have seen a CD30 on ebay from a vectra I think? will this fit it double DIN but what about the connections?  Also there is a cdr 2005 VDO from a corsa/Astra which is chrome would this be a straight swap? whaty about the display unit?

Any advice b4 spend £60 on ebay

Thanks Gray

Personally I think it will look a bit gash if it is a silver/graphite one :-/ Can't confirm for sure on the tech details but I do know the new vauxhalls run a queer electronics system, not sure if this applies to the radio though.

If you're feeling handy with the old soldering iron there is a replacement volume pot available or perhaps it can be cleaned, will have a shufty through some old posts, it is a common problem. Does it still work from the steering wheel controls?

The CD30s like the NCDC's are a CAN bus based display comms setup (nothing queer about it, all the manufacturers are using it) so wont replace a CDR2005.
