Title: radio tuner not working

my stereo has been working fine till 2 days ago when i had to disconnect the battery now for some strange reason i cant pick up a radio station, just a constant hiss cd player works fine and ive not messed about with anything to do with the stereo...any ideas!!!!!

After disconnecting the battery you usualy have to recode the radio ... what does the display say ???  If it says "safe" its waiting for the code to be input.. :)

nothings coming up, it runs through the channels but cant pick a thing up, not even a bit of background noise..

wouldnt that mean the CD wouldnt work either?

when i recoded one in my corsa it was the same, going thru stations but not recieving anything, but i sold it like that and didnt tell the buyer  ;D

It sounds like the aerial has become disconnected at some point but I don't see how that could have happened seeing as you did not touch the radio.  Maybe it's just the tuner part of the radio has gone kaput or shorted somehow when battery power was restored?

Sometimes the bands/presets alter themselves, press AS (Autostation tune) or UML (bands), it should switch to it's presets again. When the system is functioning correctly, the RDS system should show up the station names. Don't crank the volume up too high though!
