Title: Intermittent light on keypad - CCRT700
Post by: PaulW on 08 December 2007, 01:04:40
The numerical keypad on my CCRT700 has started to have a mind of its own.  Noticed tonight it comes on, goes off, comes on, goes off... The rest of the illumination on the radio is fine except for just the keypad...

Is it easy enough to replace the bulb inside the radio or am I best getting someone with knowhow to sort it for me (and then if they break it atleast I have some sort of comeback...)

Hi, if you have a furbarred unit, I have a CCRT700 in the shed doing nothing, it was working perfectly when I removed it from the car. I see you are Liverpool/Northwich, so you are not far from me.

First up....pop the security panel off and clean the contacts.

Did that, no different - the numerical keypad lights on the right are still intermittent at best.

radio itself still works fine, the removeable keypad lights up fine, as does everything else bar the right...

Would rather fix it that replace the whole unit...

Easy enough to replace, four grub screws(if they are still there) pull old unit out with removal tools, pop new unit in, 10 Mins at most. As I said earlier I have one here if you want it, I also have removal tools.
