Title: standard radio "SAFE" mode

hello all. my radio is in safe mode but i cannot get it to work even with the code?? is there a special procedure when inputting the code as i have no book!

I believe it depends on what stereo you have...

you need the carpass which should have come with the car, this contains the radio code. If you don't have one take your log book to a Vauxhall dealer for a car pass, cost ranges from £20-50 depending on the stealer.

If you have the code, switch on the ignition, press and old the AS button till it beeps, it will show a number (10) this is the number of attemtps you have.

Then 4 dashes, use the radio buttons 1,2,3,4 and use each number to select the number. If that makes sense, press the button "1" three times say and that will give you three as the first number.

just a freindly hint, can you not use captials? its considered as shouting on forums.

if you have already tried 10 attempts and then its said safe it is locked and bsaically knackerd im led to believe. happened to me on cd changer.

Code Entry as Follows:
Turn Off Stereo
Switch On Ignition (No Need To Start Engine)
Press & Hold Preset " AS " and
Switch Radio On - Display Shows
" SAFE " And Then Shows " 10 - - - - "
Press preset " 1 " repeatedly for 1st Digit
Press preset " 2 " repeatedly for 2nd Digit
Press preset " 3 " repeatedly for 3rd Digit
Press preset " 4 " repeatedly for 4th Digit
If the correct code number is now shown
Press & Hold Preset " AS " Until the Unit Beeps
