Hi - hope someone out there can help with this.
Have Omega Elite (2001) with Phillips CCR2006 double din head unit and the Bose amp / speaker system. Sounds great - well it did until the CD player broke - local car audio fitter assures me the cd unit is virtually beyond repair ... he's aleady spent several hours trying to mend and has thrown in the towel ( mechanism problems ).
No problem i thought as i fancy a new head unit with mp3 options, usb, aux in etc. and dont mind going to single din etc.
So he fits one ... and then discovers a sound quality problem !
Reckons he's been supplied wrong lead to run from unit to Bose amp.
I'm now waiting to hear if his supplier has a connector lead to do the job.
So i've tried to look into this myself and i'm getting impression there's and issue with the compatability between new head units and the Bose amp ? something to do with bose needing lower input level..
Is this correct ? if so what are my options.. apart from a bose configured replacement original hu ?
Please help ?
Phil

3rd party (non Vaux) don't support bose.
CDR 2006 are always die, get your self one of the later headunits, forget the number CCRT700 or something

Easiest fix is to look for the seperate Philips CD3 in dash changer that is fairly common and "unwanted" due to it being a single DIN afterthought.
I can reprogram this for use with your existing 2006 and it is fairly easy to swap the module over with the one you have fitted behind the large fascia. around half a dozen screws!

thanks for replies... trying to find images and info on the options you have suggested.
Do any of these offer mp3 playback etc

No standard fit Omega stereo supports MP3 playback. Thankfully.
