cd changer and head unit often have different codes. SAFE when using cd changer should mean you need to input the code for it even if you've got head unit working

If it says CDC SAFE on the CCR2006 then it is a common fault that we can fix for you.

http://ice.dndservices.co.uk/shop_show_item.php/ST/ccr%202006/IID/587/PAGE/shop_search_index.php

If sending the unit over to us, send it still mounted in the metal cage as it protects it in the post.

Only on prefacelifts.  The CCR2006 does not provide a way to enter CD code, hence needs to be serviced by a car audio specialist.

Dave, do you know what the route cause of these failures is?

There not using Dallas EEPROMS are they (known to suffer from corruption) or is it just standard Flash based bit flipping?

Unsure of the Cause - we simply upload a later version of software into the chip and have never seen one back

I have the same prob on my CCR2006 --- happened, I assume, cos the battery has been disconnected -- radio is fine -- didn't need code re-entering. Is this a unit out and off to DND job .... or as the cause most likely was the disconnection is there another fix ??

Not connected with battery disconnection - just one of those "things" set to annoy us.

But in answer to your question, Yes, send it over   :y
