I have the CDR500 stereo removed from the old 99 Omega 2.5 mini facelift estate...does anyone know if an SC804 will fit straight in in its place?
-
no mate totally different wiring !! :y
-
Disagree !
SC804 and CDR500 both have the large 10 way ISO block at the top and should be a straight swap - display protocols are the same on both.
-
Well...I'm going to be trying it today so will be able to confirm either way :)
-
Well I had the wiring out...previous owner of my new car has cut the wiring to put an aftermarket stereo in...so gotta match all the wires up...but the mini facelift has a standard colour wired stereo plug which goes into the SC804...then a plug plugs into it to another standard ISO connector but completely different coloured wiring and some extra wiring running into it...not sure what its for..but I would have thought you could simply unplug the extension and plug an SC804 straight into the initial plug...
-
as i said totally different wiring !! 8-)

Rather guessing the extra wiring might be the loom for the traffic master?

Couldn`t agree more !

I cant, I cut it out to put on the new car lol BUT the wiring colours are all the same so when I have finished wiring the connector into the new car I will try it then :)

may have hassles with MID - sc804 can only drive an 8 digit MID IIRC (ones with yellow and black connector), 99 MID will be new style....
-
Its a bit of an unknown at the moment...its a 98 S reg, has steering wheel controls which suggests its mini facelift...and should of course be, but the slide area for the load cover (for example) appears to be pre mini facelift...may have been changed at some point?? Or perhaps as its a tourer the lower spec means it doesnt have all the mini facelift improvements??
I'm going to take the MID out and check on what leads it has going into it...

If the MID computer info lines are above the radio info line, its single grey connector. If computer info lines below the radio info line, it will have the yellow and black connectors (and likely missing pixels as well!)
