Gone to play with the stereo in the car tonight, CCRT700 plus multi changer, after the usual flat battery problems ony to find the multichanger in safe mode.
2 Questions.
Do I need to have CD's in it to get it out of safe mode.
How do I input the code.
I tried selecting CD, then inputting the code using the number buttons but it kept selecting radio stations, obviously I am doing it wrong.
Please could some one give me the guidance to input the code for the multichanger correctly.
TIA :y

Code Entry as Follows:
Switch On Ignition (No Need To Start Engine)
Turn Off Stereo
Press & Hold Preset " O " and
Switch Radio On - Display Shows
" SAFE " And Then Shows " 10 - - - - "
Press preset " 1 " repeatedly for 1st Digit
Press preset " 2 " repeatedly for 2nd Digit
Press preset " 3 " repeatedly for 3rd Digit
Press preset " 4 " repeatedly for 4th Digit
If the correct code number is now shown
Press & Hold Preset " O " Until Unit Beeps

Oh, BTW, Not all CCRT700`s have the code facility enabled on the Changer and some of them are paired electronically instead of with codes.
I do not have the exact model numbers but am fairly sure that they are not interchangeable.

You just enter the code using the numbers on the key pad, don't forget that CCRT700 has numbers 0 through to 10 not just 1 to 6 as on other models of radio. ;) :y

Yes, I forgot that there is more than one version of CCRT700 !!
Either way will work, depending on which one you have.

Interesting :y - not come across a ccrt700 that is 'paired' to cd unit yet, only ever seen that (on vauxhalls) on the NCDC type series. Good to know

GE******
Vin W0L0VBP691*****2
Security Code ****
Engine TYPE/no X30XE / 0******1
Key No ****4
Radio TYPE/code 1700 / ****
Serial Number X1******
CD Changer Type/Code CDC2 / ****
Serial No X37*****
When I bought the car it had a printed paper (credit card size) with all the above on it (**blanked out)
But there was no code or serial for the sat nav.
Now I am assing the second one down might be some sort of alarm code.
No idea what the GE number at the top is.
I have heard card pass's mentioned (think that is what I remember it as) on the forum and am assuming that this is the card pass.
Stero is the CCRT700 with the pone built in, not sure why it's classed as a 1700 above.

1700 = ccrt700
Carin savnav has no code, and gps aerial up under dash or byt tax disc, depending on age

Still no joy.
The head unit still works ok even after having the battery off today.
Still getting the error message on the head unit saying CD - Safe.
Follwed all the directions, but the head unit does not display the "safe" and then the "10"
Tried a few times before and after the battery change.
Is it me doing it wrong or is it the set.
TIA :y

Big thanks to Marky Mark. :y :y :y
Rang him last night regards some parts he had on offer and chatting away we got on to the subject of my CD disc change in safe mode, and instanly he trotted out the safe mode reset for the CCRT700. I told him that what had been mentioned on the forum (he said he hadnt caught up with the electrical posts much)
The code reset covers most of the units in the Omega range but differs on my setup.
Resetting this one.
Turn ignition on
Hold CD and press power on head unit to turn on.
wait for the beep (also shows "10")
enter code as a single entry for each number. 2=2 4=4 etc.
after all 4 digits entred then press the CD button again.
Job done.
Big thanks to Marky Mark :y :y :y
and
also a big thanks for all the other posts trying to get the unit reset :y :y :y
