Title: Speed cameras for TomTom
Post by: mkaminski100 on 29 May 2008, 09:57:25
I found thin on internet. http://www.scdb.info/en/ It says that for £7 I will get all speed cameras in Europe. I am not speeding but many times I had to drive bit more than 70MPH and speed camera warning from my TomTom saved few £££ for me.
Is anybody using these speed cameras database? Is it worth to pay £7 and is it up to dat?
I am not any speedracer so I don’t need to buy any extra devices to show where all cameras are, but for £7 it might be worth a try.
Thanks for any info.

I have some SpeedCameras in my TomTom, but it’s only for UK and I think it’s not up to date.
PocketPC is much better than any GPS. You can use so many different software, and find out which is the best one. What software are you using? I went for Nokia N80 with TomTom – battery is a bit painful (last for 3 days) but apart from that I have a phone with navi which is always with me.

I use TomTom 6 on my PocketPC phone, along with CheckPOInt for and enhanced camera warning system.

Does anyone have or know where i can get the latest Tom Tom map for free.

I brought my Tom Tom new six weeks ago, they have released a new map and I'm told I can only have a new map free within 4 weeks of first connecting the unit to there internet site.

I missed it by 1 week they want over £30, i'm so pissed

If you contact TomTom via their website and explain what happened ie you bought it and then they bought out a new map they will give you the update free. They initally wrote back to me saying it was just unlucky but I pointed out they knew it was being released and should have told me. After a few emails I got it free. It wasn't this update but one a year ago. Worth a try
