Title: Key Fob and Central Locking
Post by: MutantCav on 14 September 2008, 16:30:40
Ok so on a 98 mini facelift...key with the chip in it and an open and close button...

If I swap the key part and the chip over to another key from another car...key still works obviously but the open close of the central locking is for the wrong car...

So is there any way to swap the central locking bit over too?? I thought the chip was what told the car its the right remote signal but clearly I'm wrong...

Is there any way to swap over the fob bit then? Remove the innards or summat? Or does it need reprogramming to achieve this?
