Searching hasn't helped me, unfortunately, so forgive the new topic if it's an age-old question!
My 2001 Elite has reverse sensors fitted but the system isn't functioning (I presume it emits a series of warning 'beeps' but mine doesn't do a thing). Is this a common fail and what are the basics that I should be looking for to make it operational?
(I'm a novice with the Omega so please be gentle!)

Happened on my last 2001 Elite. I troubleshooted it to the Park Pilot control unit which is located on the support strut in the boot on the left hand side (where the spare is).
Somebody posted a link to where you can buy them recently if you do a search for it.

I've found that post with the replacement units. Are these a common fail or is there something else that I should check for before splashing the cash?

You can do a check to make sure that the reverse light feed is active. It is this feed that activates the unit when you pop it into reverse.
Find the control unit in the boot and get the multimeter out. I think the reverse light feed is the red wire going into the box but I can't remember off hand.

I'll give that a whirl - thanks :)
