hiya, i'v swapped gearboxes from the ar25 to the ar35.. iv been wondering, where does the gearbox ecu go? under the centre console or what?
thanks
-
drivers side, behind dash, above alarm ecu sort of area.
-
above the pedals to the right 10mm plastic nut holds it on at top of ecu :y
-
why do you need to get to ecu?
-
that WAS FAST!
thanks for the replies, i'v swapped my ar25 for a 35 and got a gearbox ecu... having had the engine out and stuff and not seeing the gearbox ecu i wondered where it went

lol i just sort of stood there like "ok"*scratches head and starts looking at a 2.5 v6 and drooling*

Just checking...its the one that is to the right of the pedals right?? With the grey connector wrapped round it and the loom running from the stereo etc and then off to the rear?
-
don't need to change the g/b ecu. And they never fail. Unless your name is Unlucky Alf.
-
Arent they programmed??? Thought the gear change would be a bit different on the 3.0?

Nope.
Well, they are programmed with engine type, but not box type.
-
Oh right...so changing the box would in fact be bad as the car would then think it has a 3.0 engine when it only has a 2.5??

if you changed ecu and engine type was different, ecu needs to be reprogged to match the fitted engine type
