Title: sc804 problem

hi all i have a problem with the sc804 cdc head unit in my mig.it was working perfectly untill i removed it to wire in a amplifier today which as it happens i didnt have time to do,but on refitting the unit the safe wording appears but it stays on, the number 10 doesnt appear as said in the manual,i have tried turning it on while nolding in the as button as per manual but still the word safe stays put any ideas please.also can anybodt tell me which wire at the rear of the unit to connect the remote wire from the amp to thanks

10 SAFE  will ony appear if ignition is switched on BEFORE the radio is switched on with the AS button pressed.

As Dave says, key in position II or ignition on...

Turn off radio...

Hold AS while switching on radio and keep holding until you hear a beep (few seconds max)...

should then say safe 10 etc

tried holding AS button while switching on the radio didnt matter how long i held the AS button,no beep and ignition was on before i turned on the radio.

Are you sure the radio was off??? If its displaying SAFE on the screen...that means the radio is on...you need it to be displaying the date...

Make sure you turn off the radio before turning the ignition on.

SAFE with no numbers means thet the correct sequence has not been followed or the radio has not seen a switched ignition supply thus indicating a fault somewhere.
