Title: Omega 2.5 V6 Radio Safe Problem
Post by: hatilgan on 29 November 2008, 16:26:07
I'm a 2000 model 2.5 V6 Omega user for one month. After charging battery, I entered 4 digit radio code, but I could not unlock the radio. Now it displays "RADIO SAFE" or "SAFE"

I have tried several methods:

-  Disconnected and connected battery before entering the radio code.
-  First switched on ignition and then pressed and  hold "AS" button before turning on the radio to enter the radio code. I continued to hold down "AS" button and radio on button several minutes, but it did not display any other thing except "SAFE" or "RADIO SAFE". So, I could not enter the radio code.

My question is how can I unlock my radio? How can I catch the radio code entering display screen again?

Second method (holding AS button) but you MUST have the radio switched off...then press and hold AS button switching on the radio as you do...if SAFE is displayed on the screen then the radio is ON  :y

Dear MutantCav,

I had tried your method, but nothing changed. It displays "safe" or "radio safe". Radio does not work.

Anybody else who could help me please!

How can I unlock my radio? How can I bring the radio code entering display screen again?

If your sure that the radio was definitely off when you pressed the AS button and turned on the radio...then next possibility is that the code has been entered wrong a few times, after a couple of attempts it makes you wait longer and longer before retrying...try leaving the radio on for a period of time an hour or more with it showing safe to see if it eventually lets you enter the code...if its been entered wrong 10 times in a row then you need a professional to sort it out...

I agree this is how it is done, but Hatilgan how are you entering  the code numbers? :-?  You do realise that you don't enter the number, say 5785, using those numbers on the key pad. ;)

The word SAFE without a number to the left of it means that you are attempting to enter a code in the wrong sequence or your ignition is not on. If it is showing a number less than 10 and you cannot eneter anything, leave both ignition and radio powered up for up to two hours or until another attempt is allowed as you have to allow the penalty time to reset after entering an incorrect code.

Code Entry as Follows:
Turn Off Stereo
Switch On Ignition (No Need To Start Engine)
Press & Hold Preset " AS " and
Switch Radio On - Display Shows
" SAFE " And Then Shows " 10 - - - - "
Press preset " 1 " repeatedly for 1st Digit
Press preset " 2 " repeatedly for 2nd Digit
Press preset " 3 " repeatedly for 3rd Digit
Press preset " 4 " repeatedly for 4th Digit
If the correct code number is now shown
Press & Hold Preset " AS " Until the Unit Beeps

 ;)

On the CCRT700 it asks for the code as soon as you switch on the ignition without needing to hold down AS.

Also you type the code directly using the 10 digit keypad, just like dialling a phone number then press the volume switch in to confirm
